Like most families in the U.S., when members of the
military travel, they often look for a good deal or discounted tickets to help control costs.
This may be especially true for families over Labor Day weekend, which is seen by many as one of the last times a family can vacation before the kids go back to school.
One idea that was recently highlighted in a USA Today article is to employ the use of a program called CityPass, which is utilized at most major cities in the nation.
For a flat rate, a CityPass will provide admission to specific tourist spots in a city (this can include museums, zoos and other attractions). Military families may want to investigate further and if a CityPasss discounted attractions work for them, it may be good deal.
Some of the cities that take CityPass include New York City, Chicago and Boston. Also, when visiting major cities, servicemen and women should inquire about military discounts at hotels and public transportation centers, since a deeper discount may be available for them and members of their family.
