Servicemen and their families near the New York-Vermont border can make a road tip out of
military discount travel options that culminate in a music festival honoring troops at Champlain, Vermont on July 19.
They can start in Albany, New York, where several eateries offer discounts to members of the military to honor their service, according to an Albany Herald report.
That includes 10 percent off of desserts at MaggieMoo's Ice Cream & Treatery, and 20 percent off meals at the local International House of Pancakes for members of the military who show identification, according to the news provider.
Then servicemen can head north to Champlain for the Country Club Music Festival which will honor 1,800 Vermont National Guardsmen who are set to deploy soon after, reported the Burlington Free Press.
Veterans and active duty personnel can get tickets for $10, half off the normal price by going to local radio station and event sponsor WOKO through July 10, according to the news provider. Half of all ticket sales will support the Vermont Guard Family Readiness fund.
