Members of the 375th Medical Group (MDG) base clinic at
Scott AFB have reason to celebrate this week, as the unit recently passed its triennial inspections from the Air Force Inspection Agency (AFIA) and the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC), earning an "excellent" rating in the process.
Though the AAAHC inspection's results are still pending, inspectors had expressed happiness with the unit's delivery of care and declared that they would be recommending the maximum three-year accreditation award that the body allows.
"We've come a long way in such a short time," Colonel Jill Sterling, the commander of the 375th MGG, told the military press. "Over 90 percent of the medical group executive staff changed over last summer, and we provided maximum support for the air show, made preparations for the Operational Readiness Inspection and sent a team on a deployment to Haiti. Our medical team works hard every day to bring 'excellent' care to Team Scott."
The inspection - which was performed in three stages including a pre-arrival review, a document review and a two-day interview process - covered 107 elements made up from more than 1,600 criteria to assess quality of care, patient safety, customer service, deployment processing and community support.
