The 2012 Air Force Assistance Fund (AFAF) campaign kicks off on February 6 at Eglin AFB, giving Airmen and other community members another opportunity to help one another.
The campaign, which raises money to benefit a number of members of the Air Force and their families, will run through March 16 and is aiming to raise $114,583.
The funds will support four Armed Forces charities. The Air Force Aid Society provides Airmen and their families around the world with emergency financial and education assistance as well as community-enhancement programs. The Air Force Enlisted Village Indigent Widows Fund offers rent subsidy and other support to indigent widows and widowers of retired entlisted members at an Air Force Village near Eglin AFB, and the Air Force Village Indigent Widows' Fund supports a similar demographic at an Air Force Village in San Antonio.
The campaign will also contribute to the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation, which provides rent and financial assistance to indigent widows and widowers of officers.
All Team Eglin members are invited to attend the kickoff breakfast Feb. 6 at Luke's Place. Donations can be made in cash, check, money order or payroll deduction.
