Late last month, the 57th Annual Air Force Research Laboratory Material and Manufacturing Directorate Awards Recognition Luncheon recently came to
Wright Patterson AFB to recognize the efforts of the bases top performing members of the directorate and celebrate their contributions to the organizations success.
The Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, or RX, welcomed current members, alumni and invited guests to the Hope Hotel where they were welcomed by a motivational speech from retired Lieutenant General Jack Hudson encouraging all in attendance to do their very best each day and remain focused on the needs of America's fighter pilots, according to the military news.
Honorees included Drs. Steven Fairchild and Benji Maruyama - who were recognized for their timely resolution to material limitations in the Air Force's Hazardous Material Identification System - James Poindexter and David See - who created a unique manufacturing capability for the F-35 program - and Dr. Timothy Breitzman who established a repair protocol that enables air craft to remain strong and stealthy.
In addition to rewarding the scientific achievements of the RX's top members, the event also served to call attention to the significance of manufacturing and maintenance professionals to the overall wellbeing of the American Air Force.
