The Air Force Command is constantly in fluxA soldier's job always evolving, and nowhere is this more apparent than in the ever-changing chain of command at military installations across the globe. One such organization is the 42nd Air Base Wing at Maxwell Gunter AFB, which recently welcomed Colonel Brian Killough as its new commanding officer after the departure of its previous commander, Kris Beasley.

Beasley, who departs the organization for a new role with Air Force Cyber Operations at the Pentagon, tells the Maxwell Gunter Dispatch that his decision to leave the Alabama installation was a hard one to make.

"When you're part of such an amazing team, you hate to leave when the team is doing so well," the colonel told the news provider. "But it is time to move on and let my replacement, Colonel Brian Killough, have the opportunity to lead this great team."

Beasley's tenure as commander had a rocky start as the organization was called in to respond to three major hurricanes in a row. Yet the 42nd persevered and has since become one of the most decorated units at Maxwell Gunter.
